Odoo Panama
In Panama, an ERP isn't ready when it works — it's ready when it complies with the DGI (Panama's tax authority) and with Panamanian payroll without anyone having to enter data twice.
Panama combines a services and international trade economy with tax and labor requirements all its own. An Odoo implemented with a generic configuration works in the demo and fails at the first month-end close.
Tax and labor requirements change. Always check the current version with the DGI or your advisor before planning the project.
We work remotely with regular working sessions, in the same time zone and with no language barrier. Our own developments are versioned in Git and deployed through separate environments, so every change is tested before it touches production. For the client's team, that means a fix doesn't have to wait for a visit.
Multi-warehouse inventory, price lists by channel, and discount and margin control per order.
Projects, billable hours, advance payments and orderly revenue recognition.
Terminals with their own fiscal document numbering, direct thermal printing and a reliable end-of-day cash close.
We recommend a tightly scoped phase 1 — Sales, Inventory, Accounting and electronic invoicing — and leaving payroll, manufacturing or eCommerce for later phases. The method is detailed in how we implement Odoo, and the cost breakdown in how much it costs to implement Odoo.
Yes, through the corresponding localization, which generates and transmits the document in the required format and processes the response from the DGI (Panama's tax authority). The implementation also has to cover contingency, voids and credit notes linked to the original document, which is where rushed configurations usually fail.
Yes, with the localization and the adjustments Panamanian labor law requires, including social security contributions to the Caja de Seguro Social (Panama's social security fund) and the décimo tercer mes (13th-month pay) in its three annual installments. It's a module best tackled as its own phase, once the sales and accounting operation is stable.
Yes. The work is remote, in the same time zone and in Spanish, with regular follow-up meetings and deployment through Git. For the client, the practical effect is that adjustments get resolved the same day instead of being scheduled for later.
Yes, and it's a common case. Each company keeps its own chart of accounts, journals and tax localization, with validations that prevent issuing documents across companies. We've developed specific modules for that control.
A 30-minute conversation is enough to know whether Odoo, automation or an integration will solve your problem — and what it would cost to do it right.
